PRESENTED BY Red Bull
In a challenge like no other, ultrarunner Fernanda Maciel set a new female Fastest Known Time (FKT) on Gran Paradiso 4,061m before conquering her greatest fear the Matterhorn 4,478m all within 24 hours.
Maciel, who had previously suffered frozen eyes in a Matterhorn accident and lost her flatmate there last year, climbed the peak in solo style, overcoming both physical and emotional barriers. Her journey combined high-altitude glacier running with technical alpine climbing, pushing her limits on one of the world’s most dangerous mountains.
A trailblazer in mountain running, Maciel has set FKTs on Aconcagua and Kilimanjaro, but this challenge was among her toughest yet proving that true strength lies not just in speed, but in the courage to face one’s deepest fears.
